The Annual Parish Meeting
The Annual Parish Meeting is quite different from other council meetings with an opportunity to share the community’s successes, to consider its challenges and includes short presentations from local representatives.
It is usually held in May and all meetings are open to the public although only electors may vote.
Due the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 the council did not hold an Annual Parish Meeting, in line with the Local Authorities and Police and Crime Panels (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority and Police and Crime Panel Meetings) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 (“the 2020 Regulations”).
Annual Meeting of the Parish in 2021
The Annual Meeting of the Parish ordinarily takes place in Clapham in May although such a well-attended and interactive event did not lend itself to a ‘Zoom’ meeting. In the interests of the safety of residents the Council decided against organising a face-to-face event although it might be possible to arrange something later in the year. The Annual Meeting of the Council – dealing with its governance – will take place remotely on Wednesday 5 May under the legislation which runs until the 6 May.
Annual Meeting of the Parish in 2023
The Annual Meeting of the Parish will take place on Friday 26 May 2023 at 7 p.m. at Clapham and Patching Village Hall.
